Located midway between Boston, Massachusetts and New York City and situated on the shores of both the Thames River and Long Island Sound, the City of New London is a wonderful community in which to live, visit and do business. Our historic waterfront City is best known as the home of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and America's Tall Ship, the Barque Eagle. New London is also known as an historic whaling port, a center of higher learning, a multi-modal transportation center and an arts and cultural center.
Driving: Driving time from Boston to New London is approximately 2 hours. Take Interstate 95 South to Exit 85 for Downtown New London. Driving time from New York to New London is approximately 3 hours. Take Interstate 95 North to Exit 85 for Downtown New London. New London is very convenient and has easy access to the highway.
Train: Amtrak has many frequent stops right in downtown New London at Union Station. These train schedules include routes from both Boston and New York City.
Airports: Groton-New London Airport offers Charter Services to any destination that has a suitable public airport. The nearest major commercial airports with larger service are TF Green International Airport in Rhode Island, is approximately 1 hour away, and Bradley International Airport located in Hartford, Connecticut, is approximately 1 1/2 hours.
